Not Eczema Friendly for Me, Samples are Very Pricey

"My hands broke out badly after a couple of uses; I had to stop using the product. The sample sizes are tiny and packaged in cheap, plastic containers with labels that feel made with inkjet sticker paper. Over $50 for samples presented in such a way in combination with the flare ups are such a disappointment. Additionally, the website says the product is “handcrafted in coastal Alabama,” but the shipment tracking origin was Texas. I’m afraid this brand is a no for me. The product smells lovely, though."

Mini Balm Set

"The skin on my face is incredibly dry, especially in the cold winters we have here in Minnesota. I was getting really tired of my dry facial skin and tight feeling it left me with, and I hadn't discovered any non-toxic facial moisturizers that lived up to my standards and were pregnancy safe. Someone recommended this brand to me, and after doing some research I decided to give it a go. I ultimately decided to try this mini balm set so I could get a better idea and understanding of the balm products. I did read reviews before ordering, and a few stood out to me. - Some people didn't like how tiny the samples were for the price, and they didn't like how they came in plastic containers. I would obviously prefer a glass container too, but because they are so small, I understand why they chose to go with plastic. I think a glass container would have made the price feel more worth it though, and it would have fit the luxurious feel of the product a bit more. It's also a bit misleading that the first photo of the product shows glass containers, and the second shows plastic, so there could be some confusing/disappointment for people there. As for the small size, a little bit does go a long way, so if you're just using it on certain areas like your face/spot treating somewhere, it should last you a while. If you're trying to use it on your whole body, then yes, it would get expensive quite quickly. - Some people also mentioned how it left their skin feeling "dewy" but not greasy. Personally, I feel like it's a fine line. Even for my very dry skin, it definitely left a slippery/greasy like feeling on my skin, even when using a small amount. It wasn't super off putting, but if you're used to a lotion type of moisturizer, it will take a little getting used to. - One thing I personally noticed that threw me off a bit was that only the frankincense face balm came with a safety seal on the inside of the container. Ok, moving on to the actual products themselves. I stuck with using the frankincense face balm on my face, and I used the original/sweet girl scents on other areas of my body that were dryer/needed some soothing. I did read a review that said a while after applying it, the scent would go away and they would smell a beefy smell, but I never experienced that personally (I did with the unscented tallow lip love, but it was unscented, and I still love that product). I was very happy with all the scents of balm provided, and they all made me feel like I was being pampered after applying them. I could tell that my dry skin would be instantly more moisturized which made me happy, but unfortunately, that's where the benefits ended for me. After a few days of using the face balm on my whole face, I started breaking out along the edges of my face/near my hairline, some on my forehead/random spots, etc. I stopped using it right away, and thankfully it cleared up and healed up ok, but I was really disappointed that it wasn't usable for my face which was really what I was looking and hoping for. It also did nothing for the rosacea I have on my nose/cheeks which was disappointing as other reviewers said it helped theirs a lot. While I love the luxurious feel and smell of these products, I am sad to say that I personally won't be able to use them anymore (at least not on my face for sure), but it wouldn't stop me from recommending/gifting it to my crunchier friends to try! Especially if they already know that beef tallow based products work for them."

"My very first order from Toups was the frankincense balm… I loved it so much that I really wanted to try the other balms and this was the perfect way to do it. . they are all wonderful They are great to take when you travel. . there small and easy to pack and can put it in your carry-on and it doesn’t have to go in a quart sized bag 😅"
