Your Wedding Skincare Timeline: Get Ready with Toups for a Clear + Bright Wedding Day Glow

Your Wedding Skincare Timeline: Get Ready with Toups for a Clear + Bright Wedding Day Glow

We all want a flawless wedding day glow, right? Well, it starts with a wedding skincare timeline. A few weeks before the big day, begin testing new products to harmonize and improve your skin barrier. Then, cultivate a custom routine for the wedding morning.

After a morning of pampering, you need your wedding makeup to last all day. Through happy tears, romantic photo shoots, line dancing, and cake eating, this day demands peak performance from your foundation. To get there, you have to start with good skincare.

Your wedding skincare timeline begins weeks, or even months, before the big day. If you don’t already have a daily skincare routine, you’ll need to find your skin type and begin with basic products: cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer. If you do have a skincare routine, you may need to refine it to address active skin concerns.

This wedding season, get ready with Toups for clear skin and a bright natural glow your makeup artist won’t stop telling her friends about.

Your Wedding Skincare Timeline for Clear and Glowing Skin

Step 1: Test new products

Timeline: 12–14 weeks before the wedding

It takes about 8–12 weeks for your skin to improve on a new routine. That means, you need a little buffer time to test how new products perform, especially if you have sensitive skin. You’ll also want time to test a new skincare routine with your makeup artist and dermatologist.

Think about your wedding day skincare goals as you build your product list. Do you want clearer, more even, more hydrated, firmer, or softer skin? What about an improved skin barrier? Where does your skin absolutely shine and where could it use a little support? The products you experiment with during these weeks should actively support your goals.

Step 2: Begin your pre-wedding skincare routine

Timeline: 8–12 weeks before the wedding

To give your skin time to improve, start your new routine about 8–12 weeks before the wedding. By now, you’ve tested various products and solidified the ones that felt and looked the best on your skin. All you need now is a daily habit and a couple of weeks for the results.

Step 3: Prioritize skin-loving foods

Timeline: 8–12 weeks before the wedding

Beauty products are only part of the journey to clearer and brighter skin. The best skincare routine is one that considers both the outside and inside of the body. Skin-building foods like collagen, chamomile, raspberries, fish, avocados, gelatin, and grass-fed beef are so important to a healthy skin barrier. Pick just one of these foods (our favorite is gelatin) and include it in your breakfast. The goal here is to build a sustainable routine with foods you enjoy and watch as your skin naturally heals and plumps.

Step 4: Solidify wedding day skincare

Timeline: 3–4 weeks before the wedding

We know this wedding skincare timeline is a commitment. But it all pays off on the wedding day. Not only will you have the perfect photo finish, but you’ll gain a dependable skincare routine to use for years to come. Stick with it!

A few weeks before your wedding, test out your morning skincare routine with your wedding makeup. The makeup should apply flawlessly over your skincare with no bumps, caking, or creasing. Even if you use foundation, you should still see an underlying glow from naturally smooth and even skin.

This is a good opportunity to try face masks or eye masks to reduce morning puffiness, too. You can use these before any bridal events and before the wedding morning festivities begin.

Step 5: Nutrient-dense skincare for the big day

Timeline: Wedding day (and beyond!)

Your wedding day is finally here! Deep breath. Resist the urge to try any new skincare gifts (there’s plenty of time for that after the big day), and stick with your plan. Thanks to your wedding skincare timeline, you’ll focus on the more important parts of your wedding day: making memories, feeling relaxed, and enjoying the moment.

Your Wedding Morning Routine for Well and Beautiful Skin

Sleep with a silk pillowcase

Natural fibers are always better than synthetic materials like polyester. But silk materials are especially helpful when fighting acne, wrinkles, and morning puffiness. The soft texture reduces creases in the face and can lower your exposure to bacteria as you sleep.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Minerals and electrolytes are your best friends leading up to your wedding day. Instead of drinking plain tap water (that’s usually heavily filtered and stripped of nutrients), add mineral drops and electrolyte powders into your drinks. These will support the cells with vital nutrients for glowing skin that bounces back.

Listen to joyful music

Stress breakouts are real. And you don’t want to feel out of sorts on your wedding morning. Create a wedding playlist that’s soothing and joyful, and listen to it with your bridesmaids as you get ready for the big day.

Accept plenty of hugs from friends and family

Get all that sweet affection in before you apply your makeup and skincare.

Present meaningful bridesmaid gifts

Before the craziness of the ceremony begins, take some time to enjoy your bridesmaids’ company. It’s customary to present them with a thank you gift to show your appreciation. Our favorite gift ideas are jewelry, robes, skincare sets, or anything they can use to feel beautiful and cherished on the big day.

Eat nutrient-dense meals and snacks

Even though skipping meals on your wedding day is easy, it’s not an option. You need vital nutrients for your skin, brain, and body to stay healthy through all the day’s activities. Eat a protein-rich breakfast and stick with your routine of skin-healthy foods. That way, you’ll be fully present for all the photos, dancing, and sweet moments with your friends and family.
